Lignano Sabbiadoro - lungomare Trieste, 2
Angelo Marin, the mayor of Marano, was the pioneer of the Lignano hotel, inaugurated in June 1905. The hotel, with 60 rooms across three floors, stood in front of the bathing establishment, characterized by doors topped with low-arched lintels and a triangular pediment, which imparted a sense of dignity.

Despite the modesty of the building, Marin foresaw the tourist potential of Lignano with remarkable foresight. Over more than 110 years, the Marin family has kept the tradition alive, with Angelo Jr. and his wife Curzia contributing to the management, and today, the story of Hotel Marin is carried on by the grandson Marco and his family.
The origin of Lignano dates back to the work of entrepreneurs who began with the construction of the bathing establishment, in front of the current Hotel Marin, laying the foundations for future tourist development. Early hotels such as the Grand Hôtel Lignano of the Marin-Piani family, inaugurated in 1905, and services for bathers complemented the original nucleus, while tourists reached the location by sea through the lagoon. In May 2023, the opening of the summer season at the Terrazza a Mare marked the beginning of the celebrations for Lignano's 120th anniversary, recalling the artistic avant-garde of the early twentieth century.
